Cash Management technical Information

Cash Management technical specifications are based on industry standards. For any of our electronic banking services we recommend an IBM-compatible PC with:

• Internet access via any reputable Internet Service Provider (ISP)
• Microsoft Windows 95, 98 or 2000, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 system, Microsoft XP or higher

Cash Management utilises128 bit encryption over Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and an ActiveX Control:

• You need a standard web browser to view and use the service. Our recommended browsers are Internet Explorer (IE) 5.5 and 6.0
• ActiveX control software will be downloaded automatically when you initially log onto the service. This enables us to send data to you over Secure Socket Layers (SSL) using standard port 443, and is necessary to enable you to view the data
• Within Internet Explorer the security settings (found under Tools - Internet Options - Security) must be set at most to Medium. If set to High, you will be unable to download the ActiveX component and will not be able to use the service. The application cannot run without this software. For each subsequent logon, the application will search your PC to see if ActiveX control software is present.

Cash Management uses WindowsTM graphical-user-interface for ease of use by both new and experienced PC users – with standard menu bars and toolbars across the entire range of services, wizards, context menus and fast path keys. You can easily move through the screens using a keyboard or mouse.

Service Administrator, Account Maintenance and Auditor functions ensure you can control access to all services and monitor their use.

None of your hardware needs to be dedicated to Cash Management. For security reasons we will check authorisation for all your communications and instructions to Lloyds TSB.

What is a Service Administrator?

A service administrator is the person responsible for using the Cash Management service.  He, or she, approves and manages all user access.  Responsibilities include:

• Acting as the single point of contact with Lloyds TSB.
• Approving or removing user access.
• Configuring user roles and access rights.
• Authorising Lloyds TSB to unlock or reset a user (e.g. when they’ve forgotten their memorable information).

The nominated service administrator needs to apply for the Service Administrator role online.

What happens next?

Once the online application has been completed, we will email your Service Administrator an approval confirmation. The email will include your Customer ID, which should be given to prospective service users.

It is generally advisable to have more than one Service Administrator.  Auxiliary nominees will also need to apply for the role ‘Additional or Replacement Service Administrator’ online.

If a replacement or additional service administrator is required, you have to complete the ‘Cash Management – additional or replacement service administrator application form’ which can be obtained by contacting the electronic banking team at 0870 153 9101.
