Lloyds TSB Commercial awarded key status by the Law Society

Lloyds TSB Commercial, which provides specialist business banking for solicitors, has been appointed by the Law Society as its endorsed provider of a range of financial products and services.

Founded in 1825, the Law Society represents solicitors across England and Wales. It helps protect and promote solicitors by offering training and advice, and by lobbying and negotiating with the government and the profession's regulators.

The agreement with Lloyds TSB Commercial enables Law Society members to benefit from a range of financial products and services which are specifically tailored to meet the needs of practices and individuals.

This includes competitive rates on client accounts, handling plastic card payments and domestic mortgages, and incentives for personal banking accounts. The bank will also structure facilities to finance working capital or the purchase of practice property, equity or office equipment.

Lloyds TSB Commercial secured its endorsed provider status after a competitive tender against a number of UK banks and financial services organisations.

Specialists from Lloyds TSB Commercial work with firms throughout England and Wales and have received training in Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and accreditation as Lexcel Consultants.

Neil Skinner, Business Development Manager for the Law Society, said, "We endorse service providers in order to ensure that members can easily access professional and lifestyle products which closely match their specific requirements.

The team at Lloyds TSB Commercial are committed to delivering financial services that are highly tailored and of significant benefit to the legal profession.

This is evidenced in its commitment to the Law Society’s Lexcel quality standard. The training programmes ensure that specialist managers can understand the specific challenges legal practices face and can develop appropriate tailored banking solutions.

Chris Marston, head of Solicitors Banking at Lloyds TSB Commercial, said, "The endorsement is a fantastic recognition of the high quality services we’ve developed that meet the specific needs of solicitors. In the current economic climate the relationship between a law firm and its bank is pivotal and goes far beyond simply meeting the practice’s day to day banking needs and providing competitive rates.

With this endorsement Law Society members will gain access to our growing team of experienced Lexcel Consultants who work closely with firms on practice management policies, processes and procedures to enhance business performance and drive continued success.

The agreement means that all Law Society members can benefit from a robust and competitive range of financial products and services covering both professional and personal finance delivered by an award-winning partner with a safe and trusted brand."
